Brief

  • Panasonic were holding the 2010 AV Product Launch in Melbourne to showcase the new Viera, 3D and Skype product range. For the first time, Panasonic chose to live stream the event and introduce social media into their event
  • To create a range of product demonstration videos that were filmed during the event, edited and uploaded to the event microsite
  • To develop a microsite that hosted the Twitter feed, the live stream of the event and the product videos
  • Creation of a highlights video of the entire event
  • Interview with attendees of the event to get feedback on the new Panasonic product range

Idea

  • To fly the Neon team to Melbourne and set up on the premises of the event to ensure that editing of the videos happened instantly
  • A #tag was created and people were encouraged to use this when discussing the Panasonic product launch. This feed appeared live next to the live video of the event
  • To ensure that all products and services were filmed to provide Panasonic with the best possible coverage of the event
  • Using a 3 camera OB, the live event that was streamed via the Panasonic event microsite ensured the viewers had a crystal clear experience and saw the performance and speeches from a variety of angles

Audience

  • Media guests were invited to a lunch time launch
  • A special evening was hosted for The Good Guys employees
  • Retail floor staff were invited for one night
  • Management of retail stores were invited to a gala closing night
  • Predominantly male audience
  • All feedback received from the client was positive, from the successful live stream through to the finished product videos and microsite
